Joe Nasevich will be teaching an introductory WordPress class on Thursday, May 22 and Thursday, May 29.  The class will meet from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM each Thursday night.  This 2-session class will show you the basics of WordPress:

  • Install WordPress
  • Configure a WordPress website
  • Create web pages and blog posts
  • Download images
  • Install and configure plugins

Avoid Using IE Until Bug Fixed

Internet ExplorerMicrosoft warned consumers on April 26, 2014 that a security vulnerability in its popular Internet Explorer browser could let hackers gain access to their computer.  The bug affects Internet Explorer version 6 through 11.  Until Microsoft issues a patch, I strongly advise you to avoid using Internet Explorer.

Daylight Saving TimeSpring ahead! 2014 Daylight Saving Time (DST) begins Sunday, March 9, 2014.  So don’t forget to set your clocks one hour ahead Saturday night before you go to bed. Daylight Saving Time officially begins at 2:00 AM on Sunday morning, so that means when it’s 2:00 AM, the clock will jump forward one hour, and it will then be 3:00 AM.

Snagit is a tool that I use almost every single day in my work. I use it to help communicate ideas, explain problems, and show examples of my work. I use it when I write documentation, so I can create step-by-step instructions. Instead of writing a long description of a problem, I use Snagit and just send a picture!

plastic surgery cartoonThe thing about a website that you whip together in a couple of hours… is that it almost always looks like you whipped it together in a couple of hours.  A good website deserves a new look, and this one got a facelift today.  Gone is the canned, out-of-the-box look of the original site.  I hope you like the stark, minimalist look of the new website with its black/white/grey color scheme.
